Nothing is decided in advance
You ride at another knight and try to hit him well. That is the whole game. The lance breaks where it breaks. A man falls the way his body falls. None of it is animated, so I don't know what will happen either.
The lance
It bends, and then it gives. Where it splits depends on the hit.
The fall
The riders are bodies, not animations. No two falls are the same.
Nothing on screen
You watch the horse, the man coming at you and the tip of your lance. That is enough.
The Theater
Every match is kept. Sit down and watch it again slowly, from the stands or from inside a helm.

One person, in Sweden
I'm Abrar Alvi. I make Break a Lance alone. It started with one question: what does a joust feel like if nothing is faked? I'm still following it. Most of the work is taking things out until what's left feels true.
I write about it in the devlog. You can also write to me at hello@breakalance.com.
